Wedding-Vow Renewal Ceremony, sponsored by Reese – Attempt to break the world record.

At the 2013 Rally in Syracuse, New York, we attempted to break the record for the world’s largest wedding vow renewal ceremony. We didn’t quite break the 1,087 couple record, so we are going to attempt this again.

To place the Phoenix event solidly in the record books, the Rally is setting the stage to again host the world’s largest wedding vow renewal ceremony on Thursday at 6:30 pm in the grandstands prior to evening entertainment. Couples can tie the knot all over again in the company of their extended Rally family. Don’t forget to pack a wedding veil, bouquet and boutonniere because the best-dressed bride and groom will win a prize worthy of the big day. If participants surpass the current record of 1,087 couples, the Rally will go down in matrimonial history.  (Copy of marriage certificate must be provided to be counted.)

The 14th Rally Dog Show, dubbed “Halo’s Best in Show” and sponsored by Good Sam Extended Service Plan, takes place Saturday at 10:00 am at the Day Stage. Sign up your pooch at the activities desk in the Reception/Information Center.

Generator-powered 30-amp electricity will be turned on at 8 a.m. on the first date purchased. Electricity will be shut off at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015.

Rally guests have free use of computers for online access, including Wi-Fi, in the CyberLounge, Sponsored by the UPS Store, in the Good Sam Member Base Tent. The CyberLounge is available during Good Sam Member Base tent hours only. Guests are gently reminded to keep their online time to a minimum so other Rally-goers may use this service.

By entering the Rally premises, Rally-goers irrevocably and unconditionally consent to allow Rally photographers to photograph them and their families at the event and grant permission for Rally organizers to use those photos and videos for editorial and promotional purposes in any medium, including print and electronic. Rally-goers likewise waive any claim for compensation for the Rally’s use or publication of these photos or videos.

The Rally has partnered with Project Linus for a blanket drive. A nonprofit organization, Project Linus provides handmade blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need. Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies and anywhere that a child might be in need of a hug.

Rally guests can get involved by knitting, crocheting or quilting blankets for donation at the Rally by dropping them off at the Project Linus table in the Reception/Information Center. Children and new crafters can participate by making no-sew fleece blankets. See projectlinus.org for blanket-making specifications.
