The first Good Sam Culinary Experience will be taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Rally.  Be sure to stop by and learn the latest and greatest cooking techniques from the Food Network’s Surreal Gourmet, Bob Blumer.  Everyone is welcome to participate, but if you wish to sample the delicious dishes Bob prepares, you’ll need to purchase a pass at the Optional Activities Desk at Registration.  (Proceeds from these passes will go to a Louisville food bank.)


The 10th Rally Dog Show, “Derby Dogs,” will be held on Saturday June 23 at the Day Stage starting at 10:00 a.m. Please visit www.therally.com/louisville/dog-show-louisville to complete the dog show online application.


Generator-powered 30-amp electricity will be turned on at 8 a.m. on the first date purchased. Electricity will be shut off at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012.


Guests attending the Rally have the free use of computers for online access in the CyberLounge. The CyberLounge is located in the main exhibit hall and will be available during regular exhibit hours only. Guests are gently reminded to keep their online time to a minimum so that other guests may use this service.


Nightly entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall. Open seating begins at 6 p.m. and announcements start at 6:30 p.m.

Rally guests are invited to swivel their hips, strum a guitar, and croon those fabulous songs such as “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Jailhouse Rock” and more in the Rally’s first ever Elvis Impersonator Contest! We’ll hold tryouts throughout the Rally, and finalists will perform on Sunday night….rumor has it that our own Elvis may be in the building!

Please note that extended stay will not be available after The 2012 Good Sam Rally. Please check your Trailer Life or Woodall’s directories for campgrounds in the area.


Concession stands will be located throughout the Good Sam Rally grounds.


Generator use in general parking areas is restricted to between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.


A limited number of authorized golf carts will be available for rent through The Good Sam Rally’s show decorator, Hale Expo Services located in C-103, on a first-come, first-served basis and are primarily for guests with mobility issues.


Fresh Water — Please come to the Good Sam Rally with a full tank of fresh water. Water delivery will be available onsite for an additional fee.

$55.00 – RVs with pressurized systems
$35.00 – Gravity filled Motorhomes & Trailers
Pricing of delivery is set by the water supplier, not the Good Sam Rally.
Gray and Black Water Tanks — Please arrive in Louisville with empty holding tanks. A “honey wagon” will be available during the Good Sam Rally to dump your gray and black water tanks. You must purchase a honey wagon window card in the Rally Information/Registration Center. Cost is $25.00.

Water and Honey Wagon service will be performed by Kentucky Portable Toilets: 859-336-9269.

Locator cards are the only way of finding you in the parking area if we need to locate you in the event of an emergency. After you are parked, a parking staff volunteer will present you with a locator card with your parking location information. Please bring the completed locator card with you to the Rally Information/Registration Center to complete your registration process.


Mail sent to the address below will be picked up daily, at 10:30 a.m. starting June 19th and will be available at the Rally Post Office located in South Wing B – Lobby from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Caps, jackets, shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts and lapel pins – all with the official Good Sam Rally logo – are available during the Good Sam Rally from Sports Image Apparel of Indiana, the only licensed outlet for The Good Sam Rally clothing and souvenirs. The Sports Image Apparel trailer will be located in front of the Entrance to South Wing “C” prior to the opening of the Exhibits Hall. Once the exhibits open Sports Image Apparel will be located in booth 712.

Advance reservations are recommended. All tour buses will load and unload in the Conference Center Parking Lot in Front of South Wing-A.


Pets are welcome at The Good Sam Rally, but please observe the following restrictions: Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. A pet “Bark Park” exercise area will be set up in the grass area in front of Freedom Hall.  Hours are dawn to dusk. 

Bark Park Rules:

  • “Off leash” dogs must be under voice control by their owners.
  • Dog owners must have the leash in hand at ALL TIMES.
  • Never leave your dog unattended. Attendant on duty for park maintenance ONLY.
  • All Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations prior to entering the dog park.
  • Puppies under 4 month’s old or female dogs in heat should not enter the park.
  • Owners are responsible for the behavior of their animals.
  • Aggressive dogs are not allowed in the park.
  • Do not bring human or dog food inside the park. Small dog treats are permitted.
  • Owners must clean up after their pets.


Get Involved! The Rally is recruiting “Blanketeers” Good Sam will partner with Project Linus for a Blanket Drive at all three 2012 Good Sam Rallies. Project Linus is a nationwide non-profit organization which provides blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug!

Good Sam Rally guests can get involved by knitting, crocheting, quilting blankets for donation and bringing them to the Rally. Children and new crafters can participate also by making no-sew fleece blankets.

A nondenominational church service will be held on Sunday, June 24 at the Day Stage in South Wing “A” Lobby.



Restrooms and showers noted in the Good Sam Rally program will be open 24 hours a day beginning June 19th.  Portable toilets will also be available.  Please check your map for specific locations.


There will be a six-hour onsite classroom RV Safe Driver Training Program offered on the second Early Bird parking day, June 20, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This program is designed to increase driver awareness, identify drivers’ abilities, understand and identify drivers’ vehicle(s), determine conditions that affect driving and make participants safer drivers. Everyone completing this course will receive a certificate that may entitle them to a discount on their insurance rates. The terms and amount of discounts will vary by state and company, so check with your insurance agent regarding your RV coverage. The cost is $85.00 per person and includes instructor and certificate of completion. RV manufacturers, aftermarket product manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting at the Louisville Rally have been invited to provide emergency service performed by trained personnel for Rally guests. Since space is limited, service and installation vehicles are dispatched into the RV parking areas to perform the work.

Rally guests wishing to schedule service appointments in advance may do at the Service Desk located in Registration. The Service Desk will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on both Early Bird days, June 19 and 20 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. However once the show opens on June 21 at 10:00 a.m., Rally guests needing service must contact the appropriate company at their exhibit booth and/or at the servicing company’s display area. Financial arrangements for the payment of service work are the mutual responsibility of the servicing company and the RV owner and are not the responsibility of the Good Sam Rally.


24-hour security will be provided in all the parking lots. You must display your Good Sam Rally tow vehicle rearview-mirror card at all times to enter the lots. Security will be strictly enforced for your safety, so please carry your Good Sam Rally identification with you at all times. For the safety of all Good Sam Rally attendees, please observe the directions of security personnel at the Good Sam Rally checkpoints and on the Good Sam Rally grounds.


The Daily Schedule in the Good Sam Rally Program will list the times and locations for all the seminars scheduled Thursday through Sunday.


A special information table will be set up in the Rally Registration/Information Center that will provide special accessible needs information.

Trash removal will begin on Tuesday, June 19. Please place garbage, in tied plastic sacks, in front of your RV prior to 8:00 a.m. daily for pickup. Please do not leave bags of trash at your site on Monday, June 25, prior to leaving. Thanks for your help!


If you’re a veteran, wear whatever part of your uniform that still fits and join other members of your branch of service as you pass in review.


The Louisville Rally features a special display of vintage RVs, organized by Al Hesselbart, RV historian for Elkhart, Indiana’s RV/MH Hall of Fame. Sponsored by Good Sam Extended Service Plan, the Good Sam Insurance Agency and Good Sam Roadside Assistance and open throughout the Rally, the display is a wonderful way to experience RV history.


Wristbands are required for all Youth Activity Area participants and are available through Youth Coordinators at the Youth registration table in the Rally Information/Registration Center. Public Gate patrons will be required to wear a guest badge that will be provided when entering the grounds.


Young adults ages 13 to 17 and children ages 6 to 12 must register for the program. Registration will take place at The Rally Information/Registration Center. Registration in the Youth Activities Area will be open during regular hours shown on the schedule. The Good Sam Rally’s full schedule of youth activities means children and teens ages 6 through 17 are occupied for nearly all Good Sam Rally operation hours, so parents and grandparents are free to browse the exhibits and attend seminars.
